About This Spot

Stepping into Camino Real in Winder feels like entering a welcoming nook where the vibrant spirit of Mexican flavors unfolds at its own easy pace. The warm hum of friendly chatter blends with the inviting aroma of fresh tortillas and simmering spices, setting a relaxed yet lively tone. Whether you're settling in at a cozy table inside or enjoying the gentle Georgia breeze on the outdoor patio, the atmosphere strikes a balance between bustling neighborhood energy and a comfortable, familiar charm.

Here, food and drink become a genuine shared experience rather than just a meal. Plates arrive with colorful, soulful dishes that invite you to savor layers of flavor—the kind that speaks to tradition yet embraces the casual joy of gathering around a table. From the rich comfort of tortilla soup garnished with crisp tortilla strips to the bright, fresh zest of guacamole made just right, each bite feels thoughtfully crafted without pretense. Drinks carry their own warmth, whether it’s a smoky twist on a margarita or a well-poured Michelada easing into conversation.

What stands out beyond the menu is the sense of place woven through every visit. There’s a natural ease here—part of what keeps locals coming back—where the staff's swift, attentive service helps every guest feel like a part of the story unfolding in this little corner of Barrow County. It’s a spot comfortable enough for longtime locals looking for familiar flavors, yet welcoming to newcomers discovering Mexican cuisine that’s honest and vibrant.

For those craving a meal that is as much about the atmosphere as the food, Camino Real offers a quietly joyful blend of warmth, flavor, and down-to-earth hospitality.

All the food had flavor, our waiter was the best, not to busy as we went right before the dinner crowd, plenty of parking, outside seating, prices fair, portions were plenty, drinks good, open 7 days a week, they have vegetarian options if that's your thing. Always busy when I drive by and now I know why. Highly recommend! I ate the Trio Burritos (chicken, steak & shrimp) excellent flavors, the Texas Fajitas- plenty for one & flavorful and third (can't remember the name ) but delicious!

Stopped in for the first time today with the kiddos 11/26. Absolutely delicious. We all had the Taco salad with steak. Service was great. Smiling staff everywhere.
